Infant School Curriculum and Assessments

Al Jazeera Academy Kindergarten follows the National curriculum of the United Kingdom for the teaching of English (EYFS).

The EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. The EYFS supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children.

Children develop quickly in the early years, and early years practitioners aim to do all they can to help children have the best possible start in life. Children have a right to an education which enables them to develop their personalities, talents and abilities irrespective of ethnicity, culture or religion, home language, family background, learning difficulties, disabilities or gender. The EYFS helps adults to understand and support each individual child’s development pathway.

This is achieved by ‘Learning Through Play’ within the 7 Areas of Learning.

The EYFS framework is available on the Foundation Years website as well as the Department for Education website: www.foundationyears.org.uk and www.education.gov.uk/publications

Al Jazeera Academy Kindergarten follows the requirements of the Ministry of Education in the teaching of Arabic, Islamic Studies and Qu’ran.
